Novelty Sweets: Treats Made to Raise a Smile
Some confectionery is delicious, but novelty sweets have the additional good manners to be entertaining. Shaped like money, animals, pizzas, brains and familiar characters, these playful treats turn an ordinary sweet bag into something worth showing to the person beside you.
Our collection brings together fun sweets, unusual candy, retro favourites and character treats for parties, gifts, sweet tables and pocket-money surprises. They are colourful, memorable and proof that food is allowed to have a sense of humour.
Fun Sweets in Brilliant Shapes
Shape changes how a sweet feels before it has even been tasted. A gummy pizza is not merely fruit-flavoured jelly arranged in a circle; it is a tiny edible joke with toppings. Try our Halal Gummy Pizza Sweets for a colourful treat that works beautifully in party bags, pick and mix selections and themed displays.
Animal-shaped sweets are equally popular because they combine familiar fruity flavour with instant visual appeal. The charming Baby Meerkat Sweets make an amusing addition to sweet cones and celebration tables. Find more creatures—both cute and suspiciously chewy—in our animal sweets collection.
Retro Novelty Sweets with Proper Personality
Many novelty treats have survived for decades because the idea remains as entertaining as the flavour. Funny Money Sweets transform edible paper into miniature banknotes, allowing somebody to feel briefly wealthy before eating the evidence.
Jawbreakers bring a different sort of theatre: bold colours, changing layers and a sweet that rewards patience. Choose Strawberry Jawbreaker Candy, Watermelon Jawbreaker Candy or Blue Razz Jawbreaker Candy. For more childhood favourites and traditional treats, browse our retro sweets.
Liquid Candy and Interactive Treats
The most memorable novelty candy often involves more than unwrapping and chewing. Rolling liquid sweets, candy stampers and tongue-colouring treats make the experience part of the attraction. Brain Licker is a famous example, combining sour liquid candy with unmistakable packaging and a rolling applicator.
Fans of magical characters can try the Harry Potter Candy Stamper, while our wider Brain Licker and Harry Potter sweets collections offer more themed choices.
Novelty Sweets for Parties and Gifts
Novelty confectionery earns its place at celebrations because it decorates the table while also disappearing from it. Bright shapes and unusual packaging catch the eye in party bags, sweet cones, birthday hampers, candy carts and pick and mix displays.
- Children’s parties: choose individually wrapped or easy-to-portion treats for party bags.
- Sweet tables: mix different shapes, colours and textures for a lively display.
- Themed events: match animals, characters, monsters or food-shaped sweets to the occasion.

Chewy, Gummy, Sour and Freeze-Dried Choices
Novelty describes the idea rather than one particular texture. The category can include soft jelly figures, gummy food shapes, hard candy, lollipops, fizzy treats, sour liquid candy and modern freeze-dried confectionery. For a crisp twist on a familiar sweet, try Millions Freeze-Dried Strubblegum or browse our complete freeze-dried sweets.
If texture matters most, compare our jelly sweets and gummy sweets. Those building a display around a particular design can also explore sweets by shape.
Choosing Novelty Confectionery
Choose according to the recipient’s age, preferred flavours and the occasion. Individually wrapped pieces are convenient for party bags, while loose gummies and jellies suit sweet tables, jars and pick and mix. Interactive liquid candy and large hard sweets may require closer age guidance, so always read the individual product information.
Ingredients and dietary suitability vary considerably across novelty confectionery. Check the exact label for allergens and for vegan, vegetarian, halal or gluten-free suitability before ordering.
